Michael Wines Graduate 1969

Michael Wines
1969 graduate Michael Wines has achieved an impressive career in
journalism, including serving as The New York Times' bureau chief
in Johannesburg, South Africa.
Before going to Johannesburg, Wines was an NYT correspondent and bureau chief in Moscow,
and prior to that, was a Washington correspondent for the Los Angeles Times,
as well as a reporter for The Louisville Times.

Harley Spencer Graduate 1962

Harley "H.B." Spencer
Harley "H.B." Spencer was a member of the school's first graduating class in 1962,
and holds the record for the school's longest touchdown run -- 105 yards. In
1969, he co-founded the PRP Panther Youth Football League, which became the first youth
football league in Jefferson County to play on a regulation-size field and under lights.
After retiring from LG&E, he started a business installing and repairing natural gas lines.

Connie Redmon Schanie Graduate 1966

Connie Redmon Schanie
1966 graduate Connie Redmon Schanie has supported and worked as a volunteer for
various charities including Hospice of Louisville and Kosair Charities.
She serves on the board of directors of Kosair TWIGS (Together With Important Goals Shared),
which raises money for the neonatal and pediatric oncology units at Kosair Children's Hospital.
She also is active with the Dream Factory and Camp Indian Summer, both of which serve seriously ill children.

Bill Waddell Teacher & Coach

Bill Waddell
Teacher Bill Waddell established the PRP Baseball Team in 1960
and served as coach until 1979, amassing an impressive 403-107 record.
He taught at PRP until 1981, and continued to serve as a substitute
until 1995. He was inducted into the Kentucky High School Baseball Coaches Association Hall of Fame in 2003.

Becky Tuttle Teacher

Becky Tuttle
Math teacher Becky Tuttle is the recipient of the Alumni Association's
Teaching Excellence Award. She started her teaching career at Western HS in 1979,
and has taught at PRP since 1986.
